1. Who we are
FIMO Floor is built and operated by QRowd ("we", "us"). We provide the app to factories that subscribe to QRowd FIMO. Your employer, the factory, decides who gets access and what work is recorded; we process that data on the factory's behalf to run the service.
The app is a workplace tool. It is not available to the general public: a phone only works after the factory's plant head approves it from the office app, and each operator unlocks it with a PIN they choose on the phone when they set it up.
2. Data we collect
Account and identity
- Your name and an internal operator ID, set up by your factory.
- Your sign-in PIN. It never leaves the phone in readable form: the app uses it only to unlock a device secret held in Android's encrypted, hardware-backed storage.
Work records
- Shift start and end times, the workstation you worked on, and the job cards, quantities, quality checks and stoppages you record.
- QR codes you scan on labels and material lots. The contents of the code (a label or lot reference) are recorded with the work step.
Device
- A random device identifier and access token created when the phone is enrolled, used to recognise the phone as approved.
- The app version, recorded with each shift so problems can be traced to a release.
- A push notification token, if notifications are enabled, so the factory can alert the phone about new or changed work.
- Basic request information our servers receive with every connection (IP address, time, and the app's user agent), kept in server logs for security and troubleshooting.
Camera
The app asks for camera permission only to scan QR codes. Scanning happens on the phone; the app does not take, store or upload photos or video.
What we do not collect
The app does not collect your location, contacts, photos, files, microphone audio, browsing history or advertising ID. It contains no advertising and no third-party analytics or tracking SDKs.
3. How we use it
- To run the factory's production records: who worked what, when, on which machine, and with what result.
- To sign operators in and keep unapproved phones and people out.
- To send work notifications to the phone.
- To keep the service secure, investigate errors and support your factory when something goes wrong.
We do not sell your data, use it for advertising, or use it to build profiles for anyone other than your factory.
4. Who we share it with
- Your factory. Managers, planners and plant heads at your factory see the work records you create in the QRowd FIMO office app. Each factory's data is kept separate; one factory cannot see another's.
- Service providers who host and run parts of the service for us under contract, only for that purpose: cloud hosting and database providers, file storage, and Google Firebase Cloud Messaging for delivering push notifications.
- Authorities, when we are legally required to, or to protect the rights and safety of users, factories or us.
- A successor, if QRowd is merged or acquired, bound by this policy.
5. Storage and security
All traffic between the app and our servers is encrypted with HTTPS. On the phone, sign-in secrets sit in Android's encrypted keystore and the PIN locks after repeated wrong attempts. Work recorded while the phone is offline is kept in the app's local storage until it syncs, then remains cached so the app can work offline. On our servers, data is stored in databases that enforce separation between factories.
No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your data and will notify affected factories of a breach as the law requires.
6. Retention and deletion
Work records are kept for as long as your factory uses QRowd FIMO, because they are part of the factory's production history. When a factory ends its subscription, we delete its data or return it to the factory, unless the law requires us to keep it longer. Server logs are kept for a limited period and then deleted.
When a plant head removes a phone, its access is revoked and it can no longer sync. Uninstalling the app deletes everything it stored on the phone.
7. Your choices and rights
You can deny or revoke camera and notification permissions in Android's settings at any time; scanning and alerts will stop working, and you can still enter codes by hand.
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct or delete your personal data, or to object to how it is used. Because your factory controls your work records, start with your plant head or factory administrator. You can also email us at the address below and we will help, working with your factory where needed.
8. Children
FIMO Floor is a workplace app for adults employed by a factory. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18.
9. Changes to this policy
We will update this page when the app's data practices change, and change the date at the top. Significant changes will also be communicated to factories using the app.
